Tuesday 3 February – Unit 5

  • Outcome: To further refine your individual draft research project plan following your one-to-one REACH meeting last week.
  • Assessment Task / Criteria: Unit 5 task 1 has two criteria.
    • P1: Plan a sport science or exercise science-based research project.
    • M1: Explain how the selected research design and research methods will ensure that data collection and analysis is valid and reliable.
      • For M1 you need to include a minimum of 5 ethical considerations, 3-5 legal considerations and at least one detailed paragraph as to how your research plan will ensure validity and reliability. Sentence starters for the M1 criteria are below:

  • Assessment Evidence: Your research project plan must be completed using the Unit 5 Research Project Planning Template. This template is a scaffold that will ensure that you complete all of the relevant information to achieve the P1 and M1 criteria.

Thursday 5 February – Unit 27

  • Outcome: To reflect and review week 3 training and plan for end of week 4 testing, profiling and consider the possible changes that you may need to make. It is critical that SPORMV and FITT principles are maintained at all times.
  • Assessment Task / Criteria: Unit 27 task 3 has multiple criteria. This is a complex task that is broken down on the detailed web-page here. This weeks lesson focuses on assessment evidence 3/7.
  • Assessment Evidence: Week 3 should be reviewed in the assessment evidence 3/7 template. The week 4/8 (halfway point) review is to be completed at the end of next week. This review includes repeating the profiling process by the athlete, coach and you. Assessment evidence 4/7 is linked here.
  • Deadline: Week 3 should be reviewed by the end of the week. The week 4 review needs to be completed by Sunday 15 February.
